New York (dbTechno) - Nokia Corp. has been fairly outspoken about their new device, code-named the Tube. Some are calling it the biggest threat yet to the Apple iPhone. The Nokia Tube will be the first touch-screen device to work on the most recent Symbian operating system, the S60.
Nokia is certainly getting ready to bring this new device to the public, as it seems like it may be their biggest product to date.
Nokia is no secret to touch-based devices as they have released quite in their time, including the recent N810 Internet Tablet.
Nokia has revealed some information about the Tube, stating it will support Java as well as the uploading of photos.
Forum Nokia Vice President Tom Libretto spoke at the Evans Data Developer Relations Conference on Tuesday in Redmond City, California. He compared the Apple iPhone sales to the sales of all Nokia phones around the world in 2007, touting Nokia’s 60 million multi-media devices sold compared to Apple’s 4 million iPhones.
We will have to await new information about the Nokia Tube, with its expected release in the second half of 2008.
